Granola

Granola is developed by Granola (Automated Ink Ltd.), a startup founded by Chris Pedregal and Sam Stephenson. The product focuses on augmenting rather than replacing human note-taking, blending live transcription with the notes a user jots down during a meeting.\n\nThe company has grown quickly since its public launch, adding collaboration features, integrations and enterprise capabilities as it moved from an individual productivity tool toward a team knowledge platform.

Granola transcribes meetings via system audio capture on the desktop, then uses AI to expand sparse notes into a structured summary using the full transcript for context. It supports templates for different meeting types, AI chat to query notes, and the ability to search across past meetings.\n\nLater additions include shared folders and collaborative notes, integrations with tools such as Notion, HubSpot, Slack and Zapier, and enterprise features for security and administration. It works across common video-conferencing platforms without joining as a visible bot.

Granola targets founders, sales professionals, consultants, product managers, recruiters and other knowledge workers who attend frequent meetings, as well as teams and enterprises that want a shared, searchable record of conversations and organizational context.

Granola raised a seed round and then a $20M Series A led by Lightspeed. In May 2025 it raised a $43M Series B at a roughly $250M valuation, led by NFDG (Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross). In March 2026 it raised a $125M Series C at a $1.5B valuation, led by Index Ventures with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Lightspeed, Spark and NFDG.
