Uizard

Uizard was founded in 2018 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the mission of making UI design accessible to everyone through AI, letting people design digital products without traditional design skills. It gained early recognition for research turning hand-drawn sketches into code and interfaces, later evolving into a full AI design platform anchored by its Autodesigner text-to-design engine.

In 2024, Uizard was acquired by Miro, the visual collaboration and online whiteboard company. Now operating as Uizard by Miro Labs, the product benefits from Miro's scale (tens of millions of users) and positions AI-driven UI generation within Miro's broader collaboration ecosystem, while continuing to operate uizard.io as a standalone product.

Uizard's core capability is turning ideas into interfaces through AI. Autodesigner 2.0 generates multi-screen mockups from a plain-text prompt; the Wireframe Scanner digitizes hand-drawn sketches into structured screens; and the Screenshot Scanner converts screenshots of existing apps and websites into fully editable components by extracting layout, typography, and color. A drag-and-drop editor, theming, reusable components, and templates round out the design workflow.

Beyond creation, Uizard supports clickable prototyping for user testing, real-time collaboration with viewers and commenters, and export to PNG, PDF, and SVG. A bidirectional Figma plugin lets teams move designs between Uizard and Figma, supporting an ideation-to-handoff workflow. The platform is browser-based with no public API or self-hosting option.

Uizard targets product managers, founders, entrepreneurs, marketers, and design teams who need to move from concept to prototype quickly, especially non-designers and small teams without dedicated design resources. It appeals to startups validating MVPs, enterprises running early-stage ideation, and cross-functional teams that want a fast, low-barrier way to communicate UI ideas before investing in production design tools like Figma.

Prior to acquisition, Uizard raised venture funding including a Series A round (reported around $15 million). Uizard was acquired by Miro in 2024; the acquisition terms were not publicly disclosed.
