Aside is a standalone AI browser built on Chromium, from a Y Combinator Fall 2025 startup. Instead of connecting to services through APIs, its agent works directly inside the websites you are already signed into, which lets it reach internal tools and accounts that lack public integrations. You can hand it multi-step jobs, from research across many tabs to filling internal dashboards, and it acts on the live pages the way you would. Security is a central part of the pitch. Credentials are autofilled into sites by a built-in password manager and are shielded from the model, so the agent never sees the raw secrets. Aside adds scoped, per-task access so the agent only gets what a task needs, keeps an audit log of every credential use, and relies on hardware-backed encryption through the Secure Enclave. Sensitive actions, including payments, posts, and messages, always pause for explicit confirmation, which keeps a human in the loop before anything irreversible happens. Aside also turns your browsing into local-first memory, so it can reuse context without you repeating it, and the company states that this memory stays on the device. The browser is available as a free download with paid upgrades for longer research, more credits, and unlimited routines, billed through Stripe.
