Module 1: Getting Started with AI in Your Business

Where to start: your first 30 days

Pick one task, baseline it, run AI in parallel, measure.

Knowing AI can help is different from actually getting value from it. This lesson gives you a simple, proven approach for your first 30 days that turns 'I should use AI' into real, measured time savings — without overwhelm.

Pick ONE task. The single biggest mistake is trying to 'adopt AI' everywhere at once. Instead, choose one task from your list — ideally the one with the clearest, biggest time saving and the least judgment required (drafting social posts, answering repetitive customer emails, weekly reporting are common starts). One task. You'll expand later.

Baseline it. Before AI, note two things: how long the task takes you now, and what 'good' looks like (so you can judge AI's output honestly). Without a baseline you can't tell if AI actually helped — and 'it feels faster' isn't evidence.

Run AI in parallel for a week or two. Use your chosen assistant for that one task alongside your normal process. Draft the posts with AI, then edit; let AI summarize the call, then check it. See how much time it saves and whether the quality holds up after your review. Keep a human check on everything that ships — AI drafts, you approve.

Measure and decide. After a couple of weeks, look at the results: real time saved? Quality acceptable after editing? If yes, make it a habit. If not, either adjust how you're prompting (later modules help) or conclude it's not the right task and try another. This measure-and-decide loop is how you separate genuine wins from wishful thinking.

By day 30. A realistic, successful first month looks like: a daily or weekly AI habit on at least one real task, a clear sense of which of your tasks are good AI candidates, measurable time savings you can point to, and a short list of what to try next. That's a strong foundation — far better than dabbling in ten things and sticking with none.

The takeaway: get real value in your first 30 days with a simple loop — pick ONE high-time-saving task, baseline how long it takes and what 'good' looks like, run AI in parallel with your normal process for a week or two (with a human check on everything that ships), then measure and decide whether to keep it. Don't adopt AI everywhere at once; build one solid habit with proven time savings, then expand. By day 30 you'll have a real AI habit, evidence it works, and a clear next step.

Try it

Start your 30-day plan now: write down the ONE task you'll begin with, its current time cost (baseline), and what 'good output' looks like. Commit to running AI on it in parallel for two weeks, then checking whether it genuinely saved time. This single deliberate experiment beats scattering AI across everything.

Stay in the loop
