Regard is a clinical intelligence platform that analyzes all the data in a patient's chart to recommend diagnoses, surface conditions clinicians might otherwise miss such as hypertension, malnutrition, or sepsis, and draft documentation directly at the point of care. Rather than only transcribing visits like ambient scribes, Regard's proprietary diagnostic engine reasons over longitudinal chart data to support both diagnosis and documentation. It integrates into hospital EHR workflows so physicians see suggestions where they already work. Founded in 2017 and based in Los Angeles (originally as HealthTensor), Regard is used by thousands of clinicians across more than 150 hospitals and says it has recommended millions of diagnoses that would otherwise have been missed. In March 2026 it expanded into cardiology and surgical service lines, moving toward use across nearly all admitted patients, and it upgraded its platform to combine EHR chart data with physician-patient conversation. It also performed strongly in a 2026 clinical AI market assessment by Black Book Research. Regard operates in the enterprise healthcare space, selling to hospitals and health systems rather than individual clinicians. Its differentiation from ambient scribe tools is the diagnostic engine and chart comprehension, which position it as clinical decision support plus documentation rather than documentation alone.
