Predibase

Predibase is a platform for fine-tuning and serving open-source LLMs on proprietary enterprise data, known for efficient LoRA-based fine-tuning, reinforcement fine-tuning, and cost-effective inference of many fine-tuned adapters. It was acquired by Rubrik in 2025 and is being integrated into Rubrik's agentic AI and data-security offerings. Predibase built a platform to help enterprises take open-source LLMs from proof-of-concept to production. Its focus areas included efficient fine-tuning (including LoRA-based methods and, later, reinforcement fine-tuning), scalable inference with techniques for serving many fine-tuned adapters cost-effectively, and tooling to customize models on a company's proprietary data to reduce hallucinations and cost. The platform grew out of open-source roots associated with the Ludwig and LoRAX projects. In June 2025, Rubrik announced an agreement to acquire Predibase to accelerate enterprise adoption of agentic AI, moving customers from pilots to production. Reporting indicated a purchase price in the range of roughly $100 million to $500 million (terms were not officially disclosed). Rubrik's stated goal is to combine Predibase's fine-tuning and inference capabilities with its own secure data and governance tooling to power generative AI agents. Because of the acquisition, prospective buyers should treat Predibase as part of Rubrik rather than an independent vendor. Product availability, packaging, and pricing may have changed or be transitioning under Rubrik, so anyone evaluating Predibase today should confirm the current status, roadmap, and commercial terms directly with Rubrik.
