Loqua

Loqua is a Mac and Windows voice-first desktop app that dictates cleaned-up formatted text into any application, with translation, screen-capture question answering, and confirmed voice actions, storing history on-device.

Loqua is dictation that assumes you want finished text rather than a raw transcript. It listens, cleans up filler and false starts, applies formatting appropriate to the app you are in, and types the result wherever your cursor is, which is why the integration list reads like a list of everything on your desktop, from Google Docs and Notion to VS Code and Terminal. On top of dictation it adds context intelligence, multilingual translation, a capture-to-ask feature where you grab part of the screen and ask about it, read-aloud, and voice actions against calendar, messaging, and the web that require confirmation before executing. A personal dictionary handles names and jargon the model would otherwise mangle. Privacy is a stated design constraint: the vendor advertises zero cloud data retention with history stored on-device. The free plan is capped at 5,000 words per week with ten capture-to-ask uses and five dictionary entries; Pro removes those caps at 12 dollars monthly or 10 dollars billed annually, and every new account gets a 14-day Pro trial.
