The free open-source hosting is a nice draw for server authors. Caveats: self-reported scale numbers are large and hard to independently verify, the per-server-instance hosting model differs from per-call pricing so cost predictability depends on your setup, and, like all MCP registries, the space is crowded and fast-moving.
