Ola Krutrim

Krutrim is Ola founder Bhavish Aggarwal's AI company, building Indian-language LLMs (Krutrim-1/2), the Kruti consumer assistant, and Krutrim Cloud for GPU compute. India's first GenAI unicorn, it reportedly pivoted in 2025-2026 from foundation models and chips toward its AI cloud business.

Krutrim (from the Sanskrit for 'artificial') is the AI venture founded by Bhavish Aggarwal, the entrepreneur behind Ola and Ola Electric. It launched in 2024 with the goal of building Indian-language large language models and the compute to run them, and quickly became a landmark: it was reported as India's fastest company to reach unicorn status, raising a reported $50M at a reported $1B valuation in January 2024. Its early releases included Indic-focused LLMs (reported as Krutrim-1 and later Krutrim-2, a reported 12B-parameter model) positioned around Indian languages, sentiment analysis and code. On the consumer side, Krutrim launched Kruti in 2025, an agentic assistant pitched for everyday Indian tasks such as cab booking, bill payments, food ordering, image generation and research. Reports indicate Kruti was pulled from app stores in April 2026 as the company reprioritised. Alongside consumer AI, Krutrim built Krutrim Cloud, an in-house AI cloud offering GPU instances that the company reported as substantially cheaper than global hyperscalers, and it reportedly offered free cloud credits to drive early adoption. In late 2025 and into 2026, Krutrim reportedly shifted its strategy away from building frontier foundation models and its own AI chips (the planned Bodhi chip was reported scrapped) toward its AI cloud business, which reportedly reached its first annual profit on around ₹3 billion (roughly $31M) of FY26 revenue and 25-plus enterprise customers.
