Convai is one of the most practical choices today for adding conversational NPCs to a game, especially since it kept its turnkey, engine-plugin focus while Inworld pivoted toward infrastructure. The features, dialogue, voice, memory, actions, lip-sync, are genuinely useful and reasonably easy to embed. The big consideration is economics: every generated line costs money each time, per character and per player, so live dialogue can get expensive at scale in ways hand-written dialogue never does. Prototype cheaply, but model production costs before committing.
